I ordered sushi moriawase from tuna and a normal sushi moriawasa. Also gyoza , horenso, Saba Sushi and ume- shiso maki. Sadly none of the fish was good and I expect it to be better for the price they charge. Cutting technique was sloppy and not right for sashimi specifically the Ika and the otoro and maguro was inedible some prices and in general unpleasant to eat. Specifically the Tuna was very bad. Not properly unfrosted and had a lot of connectiv tissue .So very unpleasant to eat. The sushi was all frozen fish what I kinda understand but the Saba wasn't greatly marinated and the Saba Sushi was very boring and unloving. Other sashimi pieces didn't taste great as well. Some if didn't eat. Prices are high and I don't mind but at least there has to be basic skill and quality. I ordered in the pandemic and maybe because it's for home they don't care as much but the prices are the same as eating in the restaurant and I only had the cheapest fish on my moriawase sashimi. I am just sad and I feel a bit ripped off. Good luck and bye. Only passable thing was the ume- shiso roll.
A great restaurant with incredibly delicious food and very friendly staff. The prices are high, but the quality of the ingredients and the fantastic preparation are well worth it. Just the thing for a special evening.
If you are looking for an authentic Japanese restaurant with Japanese hospitality (omotenashi), this is the right place for you. It’s a family-run restaurant and from the top quality of food to the welcoming decor and attentive service, everything is filled with so much warmth and care. Offering great value lunch sets. The place is rather small and it’s packed with regulars, so make sure to book a table in advance.
One of the best Japanese restaurants I’ve ever visited in Germany. Staffs are friendly and considerate. Definitely worth a visit.
Just visit it once and you will love it. Dishes are delicious. Sashimi is unforgettable. Atmosphere is so nice and interesting. One of best from the best! Ratings are below (1 - worse, 5 - the best): The overall food is amazing - 5++/5. Service is perfect - 5++/5. Atmosphere is very very nice - 4+/5. Prices of food and drinks are good - worth the experience and quantity: 100%. Overall - one of the best Japanese restaurants in Europe!!! Place to be!!!
Best Japanese restaurant in Frankfurt. The service is very friendly and the quality of the food is excellent. Everything very fresh and tasty. Quality at the highest level for many years
The best sushi I've eaten. A fat tuna very melty buttery. Great! Very nice service and good wine too. Sauvignon Blanc from Rheinhessen.
For me personally the best sushi restaurant in Frankfurt am Main. Very nice and courteous staff, nice ambience, excellent sushi and many other delicious dishes for those who don't like sushi so much. I'm already looking forward to the next visit :-)
Authentic Japanese restaurant! Sushi as it should be ... Prices are reasonable for the quality offered.
Excellent food
Fujiwara has been known in Frankfurt for ten years now (previously Sachsenhausen). This Japanese is not new, just moved. What a shame that he is no longer in Sachsenhausen. ? But all the nicer that he has finally opened again. We had to wait a long time. In the first few weeks you could only order togo. From now on, however, again with a guest room (July 24, 2020). The quality is still good. For me, therefore, still the best sushi shop in Frankfurt. A real Japanese small family company with a lot of heart and soul. There are also no overloaded “fancy” inside-out roles with cream cheese / mango ? and crunch that nobody can put in their mouths anyway. Anyone looking for that is wrong here. But if you're looking for the best quality, you've come to the right place. The rice is just amazingly good too. The grains have the perfect consistency and the rice is at the right temperature. Here the rice does not arrive at the guest chilled but at the right temperature. Thanks for being back!
A dream! Top quality and you can see here is a master at work! あ り が と ご さ い ま す!
Probably the best and most authentic Japanese restaurant in Frankfurt. Great sushi/sashimi and the staff practices proper omotenashi. But evenings are booked out, so call ahead. I was lucky to walk in at opening time and got a table for an hour.
Yum :)
The Sashimi was excellent and the price is absolutely fair. The staff is nice and courteous. One of my favourite places in Frankfurt :)
Partly delicious food. I did not like some things, but that's subjective. Fast friendly service. Kirin on tap. Generally relatively expensive.
Sushi is very good and it stays true to the sushi I ate in Japan. Very good quality, even if the prices are high, it is worth it! Fat tuna (6,80 € apiece) are the best.
We came back and we will be back !! A real Japanese, with fresh and quality fish. Super friendly and nice service. A place not very big, but without much fuss. We booked because it was Friday, but without reservation you could also go. A highly recommended Japanese.
Great Japanese restaurant
I believe this is the best Japanese restaurant in Frankfurt. The food is amazing. It is very expensive but the food is quite authentic. Unfortunately it has not too many tables around as it is a small restaurant. Hence it would be good to reserve a table in prior.
Wonderful ambience and very friendly staff, you feel right at home. We were completely satisfied, the food was excellent. I would like to be able to award even more stars. The prices are more than justified for the quality. I will definitely come back. Thank you for the small piece of Japan, that is brought here to Germany. あ り が と う ご ざ い ま す.
I just love this place
Top authentic sushi restaurant. The quality of the fish is amazing and worth every penny.
Would rate as best place for high quality Sushi in Frankfurt. They have really good value lunch options!
Great Japanese cuisine, recommended Yakiniku (with rice), grilled beef tongue, miso grilled squid, sautéed tofu, Gyoza, like raw fish can order Toro (pictured), there are many kinds of menus that like Japanese sake Choose, don’t drink, you can order ice oolong tea for summer.
Super small, but very authentic and the food tastes great. Don't forget to reserve a table because there not many of them available.
#Having lunch# After seeing DDF, I am very hungry. Here it offers lunch menu. Teishoku and Gyoza are delicious. The service is also very attentive.
Here fits the saying: Quality has its price. The sushi and sashimi were really fresh and tender enough to melt on the tongue. The chef and waitress are working fast and everything is served very attentively. The prices are appropriate for the quality. You should better book here and also be aware that sometimes only 2 hours is time to eat. Typical Japanese ambience and very good traffic.
Best sushi of my life (and propably the best in frankfurt). Reservation is key, and it can be pricey, but everything is worth it, given the excellent quality of the fish (it basically melted on your tongue, while making you experience heavenly flavours) and the wonderful ambience. Very authentic and craaazy good. I specially recommend the miso soup, especially if youre not a big fan! I honestly never liked miso soup (light or dark), but in this restaurant, the soup was to die for. 10/10 will definitely come again.
Great authentic Japanese food. The food is great, its display is art especially the sushi. The staff very polite, but if you cannot read German or Japanese it will be difficult to order anything.
Family owned restaurant, gorgeous sushi, attentive service
When I entered the store 30 minutes after opening, there was already a group at the dinner party. Even if I didn't make a reservation, I was lucky enough to enter the store early, but I recommend you to make a reservation. It was a cozy Japanese restaurant with some customers coming alone. The sashimi platter was a standard type, but I got a fresh impression. Toro Tuna made it when I asked for it. Personally, I wanted Takuan to be a little larger, but I'm satisfied just by responding to the request. The Venetian white wine not on the menu was delicious. The landlady has lived in Frankfurt for over 20 years. I thought it would be easy for even one person to enter the store because it is a friendly and gentle landlady.
Great Japanese restaurant. The place is small so a reservation is required. The staff is friendly and the service is good. They have fatty tuna which is hard to find and very delicious.
Fresh fish, octopus, ginger, etc. Working hours are relatively short. Get there in time as it’s usually crowded.
Tastes good and fresh.
Masterfully executed fresh sushi and rich variety of Japanese food.
Best Shushi place! Amazing quality food! Highly recommended!
Super delicious food. The highest quality tuna is extremely rare in Germany.
Best sushi in Ffm. Period.
Simple restaurant with special food!
Very good. Pricey but excellent
Good Japanese restaurant in Frankfurt town. Food is exceptional and very Japanese! The waiting the staff is respectful and cordial. I also really like they're barbecued options
I have been to Japan three times. The price is small and expensive, the room is not big, and there is basically no drama without reservation. But eating such authentic Japanese food in Europe is worth the money! The boss is very kind! Udon noodle soup can't keep up with the taste in Japan, but it is also very good! Recommended!
Very authentic Japanese food. Run and operated by Japanese. Great food for a reasonable price!
Forgot my reservation .... how complicated can it be?
Great spot, good Sake selection and beers, delicious sushi, tempura and everything else - quite surprised to find this little gem in the neighborhood. Must call to reserve a table, they're rather small.
A bit on the pricier side but quality food. The salmon was fresh and amount of fish and rice was proportionate. Soba was cooked to perfection and the broth was good to the last drop. I wished the waiter could have been a little friendlier. He was constantly hovering over our table after we were down with our meals sort of trying to rush us out that spoilt the dining experience. Other than that, the ambience was good. Cozy little corner restaurant. 6.5/10.
Real Japanese food and service. A must go in Frankfurt if you're into Japanese food. A bit pricey but totally worth it.
If you like sushi, here is in good hands.
Very tasty and authentic. Here one is served by real Japanese. Even Frankfurt's Japanese seem to like this restaurant. What pleased me was that hot sake is served in a beautiful Japanese ceramic thermos flask.
